Dr.Surjadjaja is the Executive Director of ALERTAsia. She is a global public health professional with more than 20 years of experience and a leading expert in developing, implementing/monitoring and evaluating health programs aimed at high-risk groups within hard-to-reach populations by geographic/social/ religious barriers.
She graduated from dental school in 1994, and entered government service and was posted in remote Papua province as a dental surgeon, and later worked as a program officer at Indonesia Ministry of Health for seven years. She earned an MPH from GadjahMada University, Indonesia, and an MSc in Medical Law and Ethics from Imperial College, London as a British Chevening Scholar in 2003, and later a Doctor of Public Health from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 2007.
Under her leadership, ALERTAsia has grown and evolved to its current state. Since its establishment in 2006, now the foundation has secured and disbursed funding in support of research totalling overused of 50 million.
