The National Scientific Conference on Epidemiology has just completed its 8th meeting, started on 19 to 22 August 2019 in Bali. This conference is an annual event organized by Alertasia Foundation supported by US-CDC.

NSCE is an national scientific forum which represent the role and contribution of field epidemiologists in Indonesia, particularly on the disease prevention and control. The main objectives of the conference are:
  • To disseminate the latest research and investigation conducted by FETP students and alumnus
  • To study the latest public health issues and initiatives from Ministry of Health in surveillance and epidemiology
  • To gather tthe students, alumnus, academicians, government, and stakeholders in a national scientific forum.

This year the conference highlighted “The Role of Field Epidemiologist on Disaster Risk Reduction” as their main theme. The sessions revolved around disaster risk management, surveillance, outbreak investigation and survey methods. This conference also provide opportunity to FETP students and alumnus to present their investigation result and field study through oral presentation and posters.

More than 200 participants from wide range of experts, academicians, praticioners, and stakeholders at all levels involved in this conference, including FETP students and alumnus. Also attended, representative from Indonesian National Board of Disaster Management (BNPB), Health Office of Nusa Tenggara Barat, DALY Indonesia, US-CDC, CDC Indonesia, and WHO SEARO.
