To develop a manual for instructor/mentors and trainees forf the non-degree (intermediate) PELVI program and to discuss teaching methods and materials for the non-degree (intermediate) PELVI program, Alertasia Foundation together with the Directorate of Animal Health - Ministry of Agriculture, and FAO jointly organized a meeting on 19 - 20 September 2019 in Tangerang, Banten.

Currently the Intermediate level of PELVI has 4 training modules: (1) Basic Epidemiology; (2) Surveillance and Animal Health Analysis; (3) Outbreak Investigation; and (4) Epidemiological Studies and Scientific Writing. There modules covers 41 different topics on epidemiology. The meeting is expected to deliver the basic outline of the manual for instructors/mentors of the non-degree (intermediate) PELVI program, and to produce an agreed teaching method and materials for the program.

The meeting attended by experts from Directorate of Animal Health at the central level, Cinagara Animal Health Training Center, Disease Investigation Centers, universities and other relevant stakeholders.

he next meeting was planned to be held on 28 to 29 October 2019 to further revise the modules and to discuss the rest of the outstanding issues.
